Welcome to the world beyond earthly limitations. We’re glad you are here. Before we go further, we want to remind you that you are in a realm where the rules of your former physical existence no longer apply. We offer this brief orientation tour before your formal life review to help you settle in and alert you to a few things you’ll notice once you go to your assigned destination.
To begin with, you are standing just outside the gate of a place known by many names, such as Heaven, the Good Place, the Happy Hunting Grounds, and thousands of others. Feel free to use whatever name, or no name at all, that seems appropriate to you. For those of us who live here, we call it home–because this is where you will live for a while.
Now, there are so many things to cover in orientation that we can’t possibly get to them all before we begin your life review. But we do want to address the thing that troubles all newly arriving souls the most–and that’s the topic of religion. I’m sure you want to know who’s in, who’s out, and whether your religion did what it was supposed to do–get you inside these gates.
Let’s put everyone at ease. There is no religion in Heaven. It’s not a thing here, and it’s not needed here. God oversees everything. I used to believe that God favored my religion. But now, standing here in this celestial realm, I realize that such earthly divisions mean nothing to the Divine. You can rest assured that you are free from the constraints of earthly religions.
Embrace the freedom from the burdens you once carried. Gone are the days of needing a religious leader to tell you what you need to know. You can now ask the Divine directly about any question you’d like to know, just as you could have done before you arrived. This absence of religion is a relief, a liberation from the earthly constraints you once knew.
It may surprise you that God doesn’t have a religion. The Divine, the Unseen, the Source of all creation, transcends the labels and doctrines of mortal religions. Those things were all for your benefit to help you remember your heavenly connection while you were ‘away.’ God doesn’t have a preferred group of people in heaven or on earth. You are all equally valued and accepted here.
I remember feeling a mix of disbelief and gratitude when I first arrived here. I had always believed that my faith was the key to salvation, but now I realized it was just one piece of a much larger puzzle. The fact that you are standing here is not because your religion saved you. You are here because God loves you and would never do anything to harm you. You are here because you are cherished, valued, and loved unconditionally by the Divine.
Undoubtedly, some of you are surprised by the people you see here. I always thought only the most pious believers would make it here. But look around. There are people from all walks of life.
Maybe you were probably taught that God doesn’t like some people because of their race, religion, gender, creed, or nationality or because they did not live up to your standard. But surprise! That’s not true at all. God loves everyone.
Like you, our Creator Father/Mother loved each person from the moment of their creation, and that didn’t change because you visited Earth for a few years. God has never stopped loving us. Every being who wants to be here will be here when the time is right. And someday, even those who don’t want to be here right now will arrive and be welcomed.
If you were religious before you arrived here, you’ll find you no longer need it more than education, money, power, or prestige. Those things are worthless here. Truthfully, you never needed a religion, though some were helpful and worthy of your participation. But if your religion was a burden, you can relax now. It’s not needed here.
But, if you want to get with your buddies and construct your favorite place of worship to remember and celebrate the good ole days back on earth, be our guest. Just know it isn’t an expectation, and it doesn’t make God love you more or less.
Also, know that God doesn’t think any more of you because of all the religious things you did on Earth. What matters most to Her is how well you loved and treated others and the creation about you. She takes that very seriously.
For the religious, don’t be surprised during your Life Review if God reminds you that the only worthy religions help their followers see and love the God that is in everybody and everything. Religions that don’t do that are no more valuable than other life experiences. However, there is an exception for those who use religion to harm others.
Up here, there are no religious wars, inquisitions, or heresy trials. During your Life Review, they will be revealed for their silliness. Here at Home, we constantly stress that God expects His children to be more intelligent than going about harming others because “our religion says we should do so.”
For our agnostic and atheist friends who are shocked and surprised to be here, know that when you go for your Life Review, God doesn’t think any less of you because you didn’t discover her secret place within. Again, what matters is how well you love others and the creation about you. That’s all that matters.
And for our friends who relied upon reason as your religion, don’t be surprised to discover that human reasoning is infinitesimal compared to the Reality of All That Is. It’s no more valuable than a religious person believing they know God because they read their holy scriptures. Neither can begin to approach the Reality of All That Is.
Finally, we want you to know that you won’t be able to find God’s home address here like you will everyone else. It’s not because she doesn’t want you to drop by for a visit–not at all. It’s because the heavenly Father/Mother lives everywhere all at once–Earth, Heaven, and the entire cosmos. But don’t worry. You can talk with her anytime you want because she’s always listening.
Now that you’ve settled in and understood the unique nature of this realm, it’s time for your Life Review. This is a sacred journey of self-discovery, where you’ll witness the impact of your choices and actions. Be prepared to be amazed, humbled, and perhaps even surprised by the insights you’ll gain. Your Life Review awaits.
